TBR Intervention #9

It's TBR Intervention Challenge time! We get to organize our huge To Be Read piles and actually read those books we've been wanting to (or been supposed to) for the longest time! The challenge is hosted by April @ Books4Juliet, Dani @ Refracted Light and Ayanami @ Whatever You Can Still Betray, and it's hosted every Saturday, though you're free to join every two weeks if that's more convenient for you. As always, do join us! Here's the rules:

1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finish it? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).
2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.
3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.
4. Add the link to your post in the Linky below and make sure to visit the other blogs. Comment, encourage, and spread the love to our fellow readers.

And here's how I did this week:

  • Last week TBR IC: Disaster!

I comitted to read these books:

I ended up reading these books:

Ahem. I had to read Blood Veins for a tour this upcoming week - I had given it a quick read, but I wanted to go over it again before writing the review. Stay tuned for the 10th and 11th: I'll put up my thoughts, Brian will share some insight, and there'll be a Gift Card Giveaway.

Then, I had to read This Same Earth because the Elemantal Mysteries series has hooked me badly. It's worse than any other series I've read lately. It's amazing. The review of book 1 will be up on the 17th, book 2 on the 30th, and I can't wait until book 3 is out.

And I read Magic High because it was a super quick read and I had very little extra time in the week after the other two titles. I enjoyed it a lot. It's Young Adult, and lots of fun. Again, review scheduled to go up soon.

  • This week TBR IC

So, what am I comitting to read this week?

I'm so going to finish my previous week's original set up! *Grabs her combat gear and prepares to face off against the books* I'll get them read and my TBR IC won't get messed up again!

Anyway: how did the week go for you? Better than mine, I hope? What are you going to read? Look forward hearing from you!

  2. Awesome job finishing three books! :) I agree with Lis. Even if you didn't read what you thought you were going to, you still READ. Which is, after all, the entire point of this challenge. And you knocked THREE books off your TBR. That's fantastic! I'm DYING to read Existence. I hope you do get through it, because I'd love to hear what you think!

    Good luck this week!

  3. Well I think if you read three books this week that were on your TBR pile then you should pat yourself on the back. I hope this week you love the books you picked!

  6. I agree with Shanan. Reading 3 books is success, whatever they were. Sometimes it's all about what you are in the mood to read!

  7. Hahahaha! Ron, I like that word "DISASTER" because I've been super close with it in the past few weeks... I think it has been my companion for a while when it comes to my TBRIC LOL! But I don't think yours was a disaster. You happened to picked up three amazing books and that's great! You finished them and I'm so proud of you! 3 books in a week--WOW! I wish I could be that productive. It's so hard to read a book when you're not in it... so I'd say go pick whatever it is you're in the mood for.. I get frustrated when I read what I NEED TO READ instead of reading what I REALLY WANT TO READ. A friend of mine told me that earlier last week, because I was so down that I felt detached with my books and reading... I'm glad that I finally been able to catch up little by little now... The holidays didn't help me with my books, so I need to catch up =) TBR IC means "JUST KEEP GOING" and it's doesn't matter whether it feels sucks sometimes that I fail, but as long as I keep trying and enjoying myself, then I guess it's ok. And I don't have to worry because I have you all to back me up. Thanks for the encouragement I receive from all of you guys... TBR IC means a lot to me and it helps me a lot to keep my reading habit a better one. =)
