2012 E-Book Challenge

So, I've decided to take part into a couple of reading challenges for the upcoming year! This is the first of them, and it's all about reading your books in e-format. Since that's the way I get my books these days (I just buy the physical copies after I've read and loved the electronics, unless they're gifts!) I decided that this was made for me. The challenge is hosted by Workaday Reads this time, so head over to sign up if you'd like to (the above icon takes you straight to the challenge page). Meanwhile, and to help you decide, I'm going to give you the rules along with my commitment:

Challenge Guidelines:
  1. This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2012 - Dec 31, 2012.
  2. Anyone can join, you don't need to be a blogger. If you don't have a blog, feel free to sign-up in the comments. You can post reviews to any book site (i.e. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Goodreads, etc).
  3. Any genre or length of book counts, as long as it is in ebook format.
  4. You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap-up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you.
  5. When you sign up in the linky, put the direct link to your post about joining the E-Book Reading Challenge.
  6. You can move up levels, but no moving down.
  7. Sign-ups will be open until Dec 15, 2012, so feel free to join at any time throughout the year.

There are several levels for you to join:

  1. Floppy disk - 5 ebooks
  2. CD - 10 ebooks
  3. DVD - 25 ebooks
  4. Memory stick - 50 ebooks
  5. Hard drive - 75 ebooks
  6. Server - 100 ebooks
  7. Human brain - 150 ebooks
And you can always upgrade your challenge to the next level, but you can't go down. I'm pretty sure I should be aiming for Hard Drive and hoping against all hope to make it to Server, but since I like to play it safe and sound...

I'm signing up for the Memory Stick level challenge!

That's 50 e-books during 2012. Wish me good luck! I will keep you posted with my monthly results.

  1. Ron - I saw your comment on Espresso Reads and I understand your concern about Destined being a "tragedy." I just wanted to assure you that while there is some heartbreak involved in the story, there's ultimately a happy ending. That's not a spoiler - just how the original myth was told too. Probably why I liked it better than the typical tragedies.

  2. Hi Jessie! Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me know. I don't mind the heartbreak, as long as the ending is satisfyingly happy... I'll be sure to add Destined to my wishlist now!

(Straight to help me win this challenge, hehe...)

  3. Destined from the HON series? I am reading that now.
We are signed up for so many of the same challenges, this one, Bookworm Secret Santa, TBR Intervention.
Pretty cool. U can hold me accountable if I stray from my path. I know the TBR will be the hardest!
I am gonna think of a way to knock it down.
OMG. I ADORE the look of your blog! The shamrocks & green color rock! I love green. Plus I am part Irish so it's all good.
Have a great weekend & tty soon!

  4. I don't think it's a series... Destined, the retelling of Eros and Psiche myth.

Hehehe... yeah, we're in over our heads with our challenges! But that's good, that way we can encourage each other to make it in time! TBR challenge is probably the most useful of them all, though, since it makes you read things "now", and not think "I'll read it after I finish this other one..."

Have a great weekend! Thanks for the visit ;)
