TBR Intervention #1

Lookie here! A new feature! Technically, this one goes up on Saturdays, but I'm late. Better than never, no? In any case, TBR Intervention is hosted by Dani at Refracted LIght (where I learnt of the feature), April at Books4Juliet, and by Whatever You Can Still Betray. The whole point? To pick up something that has been sitting way too long in your TBR and commit to read it in the following week.

I'll freely admit, I need help with management so... here it comes! My own challenge:

I got this one from the publisher, and I'm really looking forward to it: it's a collection of short stories, all inspired by Alice in Wonderland... but you'd not believe the twists they put on the story! So cool!

And Remembrance! Because it's about reincarnated Regency, and the mask is just too gorgeous, and I want to read it, damn it! Not sure if it'll be too much, but... I'll try!

What about you? What do you want to read this week? Share and join the fun!

  1. Oh My Gravy!!! (re)Visions: Alice looks so good! I loved your comment about The Foul Mouth and the Fanged Lady on my IMM I was a little worried about it. But, we normally like the same thing so you just made me super happy:) I hope you enjoy both your books!

  2. This is a great idea, but I don't think I could commit to it. I DO need to read Remembrance too. I think I'll try to get that one read this month.

  3. Wow! Two books! I hope you'll enjoy and finish both =) (re)Visions:Alice is kinda new to me. I actually haven't heard of this one before. I'm not a huge fan of Alice In Wonderland, but I remember enjoying the TV series when I was young (very very young! that was ages ago lol!) Anyway, I love fairy tales and I'm making a guess that you love them too? I'm 29 but I still love those sort of books... Ok, too much blabbing... sorry! =P

Thank you for participating in this week's TBRIC. You can still post any day =) it's open for the whole week. I hope you can join us again next weekend =) I'm usually the first one to post but I am always late for replies and comments *sigh*. Hehe, I hope you can bear with me *wink*

    I'm a new follower now, I hope you're having a great week! I'm really glad you've joined!

    xoxo, april

  4. Hi, Ron!

Thank you so much for commenting on my review of THE ACADEMY, by T.P. Boje. I greatly appreciated your very detailed, thorough analysis of the review! You ROCK.

What an interesting new feature this is! I have a similar one, titled "On My Bookshelves", except that with mine, I don't commit to reading the books that particular
week. Sigh...I don't know WHEN I'll read them, to be honest. I have two jobs, so there's not much time...and I want to read AND blog!!

I've heard of the Alice book, since it's from the same publisher that released ERIKOS. Wonder if they'll send me another printed ARC...you see, I've told them that I don't like to read ebooks. So I was lucky to get EREKOS. But this one...I don't know. Still, it can't hurt to try, right?

The other book has a gorgeous cover! Yes, I wish I had that mask myself, plus whatever she's wearing on her head! Lol. And you say the plot involves reincarnation, and the Regency era? Oh, I definitely WANT this book!

    Great picks!! CONGRATS!! : )

  5. Thanks everyone for stopping by! Now, let's see...

@Rebecca: (re)Visions gotta be great! It's the second book I get from Candlemark and Gleam publishers, and for now I'm really liking what I read! About Foul Mouth and Fanged Lady, my own review should be up within this week... The version I had (from August) had some typo here or there, but it didn't pull me out from the reading and I enjoyed the main character so much! Hope you like it too!

@Christy: Not sure whether I can commit to it either! I'm going to try super hard, though... because I need to get those books read! And reviewed... Might need to make a TBR(eviewed) IC one of these days...

@April. Hi! Actually, I have plenty of mixed feelings about Alice (I think I tried to read it for the first time when I was waaaay too young to understand the mental mumbo jumbo behind the text) but I do trust the editor behind the project and the summaries for the short stories were all original and enticing... We'll see on the review just how much! You're right on the account of me loving fairy tales, though... I know I can be any author's nightmare, too, because I like my folklore to be well researched and protrayed! But well, I'm babling too... Thanks for the welcome! :)

@Maria: Hehe... I know all about the time juggling. I'm trying to keep my job, get a level exam passed in december, write that damned novel once and for all, and keep up with the blog! Still, Remembrance is really worth of the effort of squeezing two books in one week, from what I hear. Plenty of noise about it... So yes, must read!

  6. Hello Ron! Thank you for participating in the TBR Intervention Challenge. God knows we all have huge piles of books to read but we never had time or we simply forgot some of them.

And now, you're starting with two books! Wow! I've never heard of (re)Visions: Alice before but Alice in Wonderland was a good book and I loved reading it as a child. I think I've read another reinterpretation of Alice - The Looking Glass Wars and it was so good.

I'm also a fan of reincarnation stories and Remembrance was really good! Hmmm... I wonder if there will be a sequel.

    Anyway, good luck!

  7. Hi Ayanami! Thanks for the welcome!

Heh, I had to start with two books because I'm falling so far behind on what I'm supposed to read and review... November's crazy, what with studying for the japanese proficenty test, attempting to win NaNoWriMo and keeping on top of the books I really want to read and share!

I'll let you know how (re)Visions: Alice turns out. I've gone through the original and the first story for now, and it's so cool! Remembrance does have a sequel, by the way: it's called Vengeance, and the cover reveal was just a couple weeks back or so. That's what made me decide that I really needed to get to Remembrance!

  8. Great picks! Gook luck and thanks for stopping by my blog!

  9. Oooo...(re)Visions: Alice looks really interesting, I'll be interested to see what you have to say about all the stories! Are they all written in the style of Lewis Carroll?

And Remembrance. I feel like every time I turn around I bump into this book and I just need to read it already! I also feel like I must go out and buy an extremely ornate masquerade mask... immediately. I can't wait to hear what you have to say about this book as well, as it seems like everyone loves it. :)

So glad you were able to join us this week and I'm sorry I'm just getting around to your post!

  10. @Gwenny: Thanks!

@Dani: The two first stories out of the four in (re)Visions rock! I'll have to read a bit faster if I want to win the challenge, though... I think I will, because I really want to. Expect Alice's review by Monday next week, and Remembrance... er... soon thereafter. I hope. But in any case, don't worry about being late at all! It was great to you see here, thanks for stopping by!
